‘Ryuji I...’ Mira spoke as I placed her down on a bench. ‘I’m sorry...’ I spoke brushing my hand through her hair. Tears streamed down her face, I placed a kiss on her forehead and another on her lips. ‘I love you Ryuji I’m so sorry...’ She continued to cry, reaching out she grabbed onto my jacket. ‘I love you too, please don’t cry...’ I pulled her tightly into my arms, feeling her nudge her head into my collarbone. ‘You look really beautiful Mira...’ I blushed as she pulled back, giving me a gentle smile. ‘You look really handsome in that suit.’ Mira blushed, placing her hand on the side of my face. I overlapped her hand with mine, resting my forehead against hers. ‘You realize I’m never going to live what happened down...’ I sighed, ‘sorry I don’t know what came over me.’ She replied, ‘You shouldn’t drink alcohol.’ I chuckled making her blush, getting her back from that time in Kyoto. ‘Come on, you want to dance right?’ I blushed reaching out my hand for her to grasp. ‘Are you sure you’re okay with that?’ She asked hesitantly reaching out. ‘Yeah’ I smiled, helping Mira to her feet. We both headed back down to the party when the next song started. Taking hold of her hand I placed my other hand on the small of her back. Moving back and forth to the music Mira smiled sweetly, resting her head against my chest I heard her whisper. ‘Thank you...’

Out of nowhere Shura rounded us up with a sudden announcement, ‘find Izumo Kamiki.’ ‘Eh, what happened to Izumo?’ Renzou cried out, ‘she promised to help out at the store tonight but she didn’t come... did something happen to her?’ Rin asked with a worried tone. ‘No idea, we’ll explain the details later, but now I need you guys to find her as quickly as possible. I can’t contact her, also find Nemu Takara as well.’ Shura explained, ‘wouldn’t just the students be insufficient? Shouldn’t we contact the teachers, Pheles as well?’ Yukio asked. ‘We can’t, consider this the same as a top-secret task direct from the Vatican HQ. Don’t let Mephisto know about this,’ Shura responded. ‘Why are you hiding this from Mephy? I know you don’t trust him but...’ I spoke feeling uncomfortable of what the situation implied. ‘We don’t have the time right now; all of you need to split up for maximum efficiency. Make sure you can keep in touch while you search, if something happens contact me right away! That’s all, scram!’ Shura stated, ‘ah what happened to Izumo?’ Renzou panicked. ‘First we should decide on areas for us to search,’ Ryuji informed. ‘I just can’t stay calm like that, it’s too late if something’s happened to her!’ Renzou yelled as he bolted the other direction, when it came to girls he sure didn’t use reason. ‘Shima control yourself!’ Ryuji shouted unable to stop him.

After splitting up I quickly pulled out my phone, looking at Mephy’s contact information. I know I wasn’t supposed to contact him but I couldn’t help feeling guilty. If something was happening then I needed to get to high grounds for a better view. All of a sudden there was a shock wave in the direction of the outlook square on the upper level. Running towards the direction of the chaos I saw an aircraft land on the building. I quickly messaged Shura with the location, arriving I felt my heart sink, my whole body started shaking, I clenched my fists. ‘Renzou... I don’t... understand,’ feeling all my strength leave me the moment I saw him holding an unconscious Izumo, carrying her over to the group of strangers. Nemu stood beside me, showing no emotion as usual. ‘Looks like you were the first to find me Mira, don’t give me that look, I hate seeing a girl sad because of me.’ Renzou smiled, all of a sudden the other people brought out some large shields. ‘Eh what are you doing, aren’t we running away?’ Renzou seemed surprised, ‘Renzou where are you taking Izumo? Who are these people and why the hell are you involved with them?’ I cried out when I heard Rin’s voice, ‘Shima! Izumo! Who are they? Are they allies?’ Rin ran towards us, suddenly stopping in his tracks the second an incredibly bright light shone from the sky. Closing my eyes I felt myself being grabbed, feeling arms grip my shoulders I opened my eyes to see Rin was holding me. Looking over I saw Mephy’s cape blocking us from the strange light. ‘Mephisto!’ Rin called out in shock. ‘Mephy!’ I cried in relief. Whatever this light was... It was dangerous and one this was clear to me, Mephy was protecting all of us.    

‘Pleased to meet you, everyone. Please forgive my rudeness for delivering my message in this forceful manner.’ A voice from the light spoke, ‘don’t tell me that this is the big event they’ve been preparing for.’ Mephy stated casually walking up to the strange man. ‘I am the leader of the Illuminati organization, the King of Light, Lucifer.’ ‘Older brother, I haven’t seen you in a long time hehehe. The mask looks good on you,’ Mephy bowed like the gentlemen he appeared to be. ‘Samael, as I can see you are lively as ever,’ the man in the mask spoke, coughing. ‘Mephy’s brother...’ I had no clue what was going on but it seemed as though Mephy knew. ‘We had fun doing it thanks to you, but at a time like this what business do you have in this remote area?’ Mephy questioned. ‘As the first stage we the Illuminati have come to declare war on the True Cross Knights. In one year from today we will revive father, the god of demons, Satan. And then we will unify the divided Assiah and Gehenna. We will return to the original state where light and darkness were born. By doing so all will be equal and free from affliction, the world will become truly peaceful. We the Illuminati do not forgive those who deny this goal, however... we always open the door to those who listen. Samael... this is the last time I’ll be asking you as your brother, come with me...’ Mephy’s brother spoke, ‘that’s impossible!’ Mephy replied, he was angry which was something I had never seen before. ‘To be born on top of many corpses while longing for the heavens, and creep about a life of shame... I think that peace is surely the disorder where different things exist together.’ Mephy stated, ‘why is it that we must maintain this state of existence while shouldering such responsibilities and pain? In this world there aren’t only beings as powerful as you, there are many weak beings as well.’ Mephy’s brother; Lucifer replied, ‘our values still differ I see.’ Mephy sighed, ‘it seems so,’ Lucifer agreed. ‘You should give it some thought as well...’ He stated turning to look at Rin. ‘That girl... I see...’ he spoke when he gazed in my direction. I felt a chill the second he looked at me, ‘let’s do our best not to go easy on each other. That’s right I will be taking this girl, we need her for our plan.’ Lucifer informed looking back at Izumo.

‘Well then if you’ll excuse me...’ Lucifer spoke walking away when he suddenly collapsed to the ground. ‘Commander!’ A female Illuminati member called out, running to his side. Lucifer started coughing again, it was pretty clear he was ill. ‘Bring the doctor! And you come as well Shima!’ The woman ordered, ‘ah okay,’ Renzou replied. ‘Wait! What do you plan to do with Izumo and Shima? Hey Mephisto do you intend to keep quiet and watch?’ Rin yelled, ‘there is nothing I can do against the King of Light. Although he’s weakened, this person is actually Gehenna’s most influential person. Even you can sense it right?’ Mephy replied, ‘I don’t care I’m not letting these creeps touch my friends!’ I yelled charging after Renzou. ‘Mira!’ Ryuji called out, I ignored him and kept going. After all Renzou is precious to Ryuji I would never let something happen to him. ‘I’m going too!’ Rin shouted, both of us pulling out our swords.

Renzou stood in front of me as I held back my attack, Rin stopped behind me. ‘Mira, Okumura... I’ll give you one piece of advice. From now on you’ll both need to be prepared to kill humans to win, we the Illuminati are gathering people!’ Renzou spoke, my stomach started turning. I felt sick, devastated seeing Renzou like this. How could I have not known? How could Ryuji not have known? How could Renzou do this to Ryuji? Tears streamed down my face, ‘what joke is that... Shima?’ I heard Ryuji speak, turning back to see him shaking. ‘Come back here!’ He cried out ‘damn it Renzou I’m not letting it end like this!’ I cried swinging my sword, surprised when he stopped it with ease. He was a lot stronger then he appeared to be, how long had he been hiding this now? ‘Mira sorry to do this but I have orders.’ I felt cold as a black like flame had pierced me through the chest. ‘Mira!’ Both Ryuji and Rin called out, I felt my vision get blurry. Seeing Renzou’s face hanging over me until everything went black. Ryuji... I’m sorry...

‘Mira!’ I called out the second I saw my best friend stab her through the chest with some black flame at the end of his staff. Catching her, Shima scooped her up as Okumura and I both ran towards him. ‘Mira! Mira!’ I cried out seeing her body limp in Shima’s arms. ‘Don’t worry Bon she’s alive, it seems the commander has some use for her. ‘Damn it Shima!’ I shouted, ‘everyone thank you for trusting me until now, but in the end this is as far it got. Well then farewell,’ Shima spoke making his way off with Mira. ‘What’s with this farewell bullshit? You think I’ll accept this? Shima!’ I called out running after him as he made his way onto the aircraft. ‘Renzou!!’ I cried out, unable to do anything as he made off with the person I love. ‘No way...’ Rin spoke. ‘Well he said this is a declaration of war so this is not the end.’ Mephisto spoke, I ran up to him. ‘What is going on? Where are they taking Mira? Do you even care that she’s been taken?’ I shouted, furious that he would even let something like this happen to her. ‘There wasn’t anything I could do now; we will get her back.’ He gave me a serious look, we suddenly heard explosions; all of True Cross was erupting. ‘Earlier the King of Light destroyed the main barrier, the Seraphim’s explosions just took down the small barriers. Have a look,’ Mephisto spoke as we all turned to see the devastation. All I could think about were Mira and Shima... How could I have not seen this? I let her down... I let everyone down.

‘I have a feeling that the other branches around the world are in the same state of chaos. Like them I must take control of the situation at the Japan branch. Okumura Yukio, first class exorcist.’ Mephisto stated turning to Okumura sensei. ‘Yes!’ He responded. ‘Right now I order you to lead the Exwires gathered here to rescue Mira and Izumo Kamiki.’ Mephisto ordered, ‘only me and the Exwires?’ Okumura sensei questioned. ‘Of course I’ll send reinforcements as soon as I am finished up here... Suguro!’ Mephisto spoke catching my attention. ‘I leave Mira in your hands, she would want you to be the one to come after her,’ he smiled. ‘I’ll bring her back!’ I responded making his face show a sign of relief. ‘Also Nemu Takara will go with you!’ He added, ‘what’s with him?’ Okumura asked. ‘He’s an exorcist that I hired from a third party to act as a moderator for you and the cram school students.’ ‘Eh?’ Everyone cried out in shock. ‘He also knows where you must go!’ Mephisto stated. ‘What about Shima?’ Okumura questioned, the mention of Shima’s name made my stomach tighten. ‘I lack information about Shima; I can’t explain why he did this. However at the moment, as unfortunate as it may be we must accept that he was the Illuminati spy- ugg!’ Mephisto was then grabbed by the collar in the mercy of an extremely pissed Okumura. ‘Shut up! Shut your mouth you clown! It hasn’t been decided yet!’ Okumura growled, we all turned in shock. ‘Mira, Izumo, as well as Shima... We’ll definitely bring them back!’
